19 Months

Baby G, you are 19 months old, going on about 19 years. You are getting SO big! You are moving out of the baby phase and into the big boy phase. Here is what you are up to at 19 months:

  • Some of your new words for the month (bare with me, I may repeat some from last month, but I want to make sure I get them.....school (cool), pickle (cuckle), Hadi (Hada), Holden (Ho Ho), Hayden (A-den), Jole (Jo-Jo), tractor, sucker (pop-pop), football (fu-ball), moon, Gay-Gay, car, cat, shoe...I know there's more....you are SUCH a talker! I wonder where you get that from? You are constantly talking about something and repeating everything we say.

  • You are SO independent!!! You want to do EVERYTHING by yourself. You get really upset when your mean Mommy or Daddy won't let you do something by yourself.

  • You are officially in your big boy bed. We went through a couple of weeks of you screaming your head off, getting out of bed, and escaping from your room, but you seem to be adjusted now, and you actually kind of like it. Why wouldn't you? It is a VERY comfy bed! When you wake up, you crawl out of bed, and walk into the living room scratching your head or tummy, just like an old man. It is too funny!

  • You are VERY smart. You have a great memory and really seem to understand what is going on. Granna couldn't find her coffee cup the other morning, and you took her into the kitchen and pointed on to the cabinet where it was. You NEVER forget where your paci (night-night) is, where the pop pops are hidden, or where Granna and Papa keep the jelly beans. If we get within a five mile radius of somewhere you recognize (Jole's house or Granna's house), you start repeating their name over and over.

  • You aren't much of an eater anymore. You eat when you want (or if Papa cooked it), but you sometimes go a few days without really eating much more than junk!

  • You have really started taking an interest in sports. The other day we were in line checking out at Best Buy, when out of no where, you started screaming, "Fu-ball"! On the counter was a Sports Illustrated magazine with football on the cover. You also LOVE wearing shirts with footballs, baseballs, or any kind of balls for that matter on the front. You walk around and point to it saying the name of the ball.

  • You are a typical little boy. Now that we are staying at Granna and Papa's house, you spend most of your time outside. You get completely filthy from head to toe, and you have the "outside boy" smell down to a T!

  • You are such a doll! No matter how much grief you give me during the day, you always snuggle up at night and make it all better. You are an absolute joy and every day is better than the last with you.

I'll end this post with some pictures of you "helping" Daddy bathe the dogs yesterday......what would we do without your help?
